Free Activities in London this Easter Half Term

The Big Egg Hunt (24th March – 27th April 2025)
Over 100 large-scale Easter eggs have been scattered across London this Easter! Each egg has a unique design created by designer, including famous names like Anya Hindmarch, and Fortnum & Mason and they can be found alongside famous London landmarks from Marble Arch to Battersea Power Station. Details about the trail and where to find the eggs are available via ‘The Big Egg Hunt’ App, which can be downloaded now on iOS and Google Play.

Easter at Battersea Power Station (18th-21st April)
From 18th-21st April, Battersea Power Station will be hosting a number of fun, family-friendly Easter themed activities. The Chocolate Market will be available for all to enjoy, alongside paid activities like bungee trampolining and bumper cars.
National Maritime Museum (6th-20th April)
This Easter you can also head to the National Maritime Museum for an exciting range of drop-in workshops throughout the Easter holidays. Activities on offer include storytelling and puppet making, as well as craft activities like flower painting and creating your own paper ship.
April Holidays: Shape Your World – V&A (9th-11th April)
The V&A’s Shape Your World event is happening over 3 days this half term. Children can design and create their own plush toy, join a dance workshop with Kirsty Purnell, or take part in a multi-sensory play session for under-3s.
Barbican’s Family Film Club (5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th April)
The Barbican Family Film Club is hosting some fantastic free screenings of child-friendly films throughout April. Catch Notebook Presents: Children’s Cinema on the 5th (including a pre-film collage-making workshop), Paddington in Peru on the 12th, LIAF Amazing Animated Shorts for 2-7-year-olds on the 19th, and Spirited Away on the 26th, complete with a pre-film origami session!
Saturday Sessions with BAC Beatbox Academy – Southbank Centre (5th April)
From 5th April, the BAC Beatbox Academy are hosting interactive beatboxing workshops for children aged 5-11 on Saturdays. These sessions will introduce kids to the art of beatboxing, teaching them the foundations of beatbox sounds as well as singing and rapping.
UNIQLO Tate Play - Tate Modern (5th-21st April)
Running from 5th-21st April, the UNIQLO Tate Play workshop invites families to create their own outfits using paper, card, and paint. Once the outfits are complete, children can show off their creations down the runway and they can take their creations home to keep.
National Gallery’s Roden Centre for Creative Learning (8th-17th April)
The National Gallery are hosting a Decoding Pictures Tour. Children can also attend workshops to learn how to create their own still-life artworks and explore new artistic techniques—all for free!
Doodle Day at the Design Museum (11th April)
On 11th April, the Design Museum will be hosting a Tim Burton-inspired Doodle Day. Young artists can create an drawing book with artist Josie Britton, design a self-portrait in Tim Burton’s unique drawing style with Mark Connolly and craft a storytelling mini-theatre.
Museum of the Home’s Spring Family Day (10th April)
Join artist Sadegh Aleahmad at the Museum of the Home on 10th April to craft vibrant stage props and explore how they interact with light and shadow. Children can take over the Mini Playhouse and stage their own light performance, build imaginative dens, and use torches to project their creations.
